There were a number of exciting games played on the second Saturday of the season. Rush-Henrietta defeated Canandaigua 9-6, Irondequoit beat Ithaca 13-10, Penn Yan just made it by Pal-Mac 10-9 and the Lightning won their game against ER in overtime.

There were fifteen games in Section Five today, as the regular season is winding down. Fairport hosted Pittsford and defeated the Panthers 13-5. Penfield defeated visiting Penn Yan 9-6, East Rochester beat Spencerport 11-10 and Bloomfield-Honeoye beat Mynderse 15-14.

James Sturnick scored in overtime to give McQuaid Jesuit an 8-7 victory at Pittsford. Penfield took a won goal, 9-8 win from Schroeder and Waterloo won a 13-12 game from Mynderse. The rest of the fifteen games in the Section were not so close.

Pittsford played a close game with Brighton for a while, but took control in the fourth quarter and won 13-8 in the cold a windy late afternoon as Pittsford celebrated lacrosse with an all day lacrosse event at Mendon. Brighton was the last undefeated team in Section Five.

Batavia set school records for most goals scored as well as fewest goals allowed in a single game in their 20-4 win over the Greece Lightning. McQuaid Jesuit won a GRALL victory with an 8-7 win over Livonia. Penfield defeated Churchville-Chili 12-9 and Fairport took Pittsford 10-4. Other winners included Canandaigua, Brighton, Midlakes, Brockport, Pal-Mac and Hilton.

Although a number of games resulted in blowouts today, two were settled in overtime and two others were very close. Churchville-Chili was a 9-8 ot winner against Gates Chili, and Aquinas was a 10-9 ot winner against McQuaid Jesuit in GRALL Play.

There were six games games on Tuesday. Brighton, who did not win a game in 2008, is now 2-0 after their 9-5 win over visiting Eastridge. Marcus Whitman, playing their first Varsity game in school history, was leading 6-2 before the Greece Lightning came back and won 8-6.

There were eleven games on an unusually beautiful March game day. Pittsford won a 6-5 game against Churchville-Chili, and Irondequoit won an 11-6 victory over Penfield, but the rest of the games were lopsided victories and six went into running time.
